Random Dozen

Ok its Wednes day so you know what that means. Time for Random Dozen. Lets see what we learn about me today shall we. Ha ha ha.

1. Define a great relationship. I would have to say that would be one where no matter what you can be yourself and not worry about what the other person is thinking about you. One where you can be totally open and honest and know that what you say is safe with them. I would have to say that thoes apply to not only male and female relationships but also friendships.

2. Why is it called a "drive-through" if you have to stop? (Real question: What was the last food/drink you purchased at a drive-through?) I honestly cant remember the last time I went through a drive through because one we dont go to fast food places often and two I usually prefer to sit and take my time eatting my food.

3. As I type this, the Butler Bulldogs are getting ready to play in the NCAA championship game. Every Hoosier is hysterical about this except me. So in honor of the Bulldogs ... what is your favorite breed of dog? That would be the pit bull or any really small dogs.

4. If you had to move to a state besides the one you currently live in, where would you move?
Thats easy..Montana. I have always been and always will be a country girl and that it the most country you can get. Plus it doesn't hurt that it is beautiful there.

5. If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be? Thats a hard one because if I hadn't been raised the way I was I wouldn't be the person I am today. You life sets in motion the person you will be as an adult. So I would say nothing. I would do it over again just the way it happened.

6. Who's the funniest person you know? Duhhh my best friend Michelle. That woman keeps me young. Love ya girl.

7. Did you get enough sleep last night? I don't know I was sleeping. Ha ha ha.

8. What's the first thing you thought about this morning? Yahhh I get to go to Christie's Deep water class today.

9. Grilled or Fried? Uhhh duhhhh grillled so much better for you.

10. Are you afraid of the dark? I would have to say no I dont think I have ever been afraid of the dark. Now tight spaces are different story.

11.When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? That ones easy to. I wanted to be a good mom. Really I did. I never wanted to be anything but a mom. Crazy right.

12. If you had one word to describe yourself , what would you choose? blessed

Short and Sweet.

So today I didn't get the chance to go to Zumba. Not that I didn't have a ride but a very good friend of mine really needed to talk to me so she stopped by and we chatted for about two hours on my deck. I love her so much and see her hurting this way is just wrong. I hope she worked out everything she needed to today and got the chance to confront her problem head on. I am praying for her very hard tonight. I love you girl. And know that I am always here for you.

Anyway other than that I spent the whole day waiting for the maintenance man to show up today and install my new dishwasher. Turns out the only one they had on property was also broke so now we have to wait for the new one to get here. Should take no more than a week. Or at least that's what they say. We shall see. Anyway I am headed to bed.

Good day/ I win

Today I woke up and get everything ready that needed to go to the storage so that when Dale and I are both done with working out today we can take it. Then I got ready and went to DWA. Had a great class. Christie really worked me out today. I love when she does that. I always feel better. After we were done with class I sat in the hot tub with a few of the girls and chatted for a bit then got out and dressed and went home. When I got home I woke Dale up and told him that he could go work out now. He left and when he was done we took the things to storage that I had ready to go. After that we went and paid a few bills then came home to wait for the kids. When they got home I told them to finish their homework and then we would go to the Y to go swimming. Dj decided that he didn't want to go swimming but go outside and play instead. I told him no that we were going as a family to the Y and he proceeded to yell and scream at me. So I took the opportunity to put into practice what Christie tought me and stayed calm the whole time. Simply repeating that I understood how he was feeling but that Nevertheless he could not go out side. He asked why and I told him that I do not do Whys. He continued and I explained that if he kept it up that there would be consequences for his actions. He did and there for has now earned himself three days of grounding and two day of no DS. I am very proud of myself for keeping my cool and not letting him push my buttons. Now lets see if I can keep this up. I have to say I loved this feeling of not letting him get to me. Anyway Dale and Elyssa went ahead and went swimming while I finished up dinner so that it would be ready when they got home. Then everyone will take showers and head to bed for the night.

That's all for now. Blog at you later.

General Conference 2010

Today was The 180th Annual General Conference and I got up and watched it just like everyone else in the world today. As I listened to the wonderful talks a few quotes popped out at me and I thought I would share them with you. Now I know that everyone gets out of every talk what is important to them and these are just a few of the things that were important to me. I hope you like them and get something out of them like me. It may not be the same thing as I did but I hope they help.

We are called to support and heal rather than condemn. We are commanded to mourn with those who mourn and comfort those who stand in need of comfort. It is unchristian of us to think that those who suffer deserve to suffer.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Second counselor, First Presidency

As the world becomes more devoid of foundational standards and as honor, virtue, and purity are increasingly cast aside in pursuit of appetite our understanding of and faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ will provide the strength and compasity needed for successful life. It will bring confidence in times of trial and peace in moments of turmoil.

Elder Richard G. Scott
Quorum of the Twelve

It is our Sacred responsibility as parents and leaders of this rising generation of children to bring them to the Savior so that they might see his face and the face of our Father in heaven as well. As we do we also bring ourselves.

Cheryl C. Lant
We live in a noisy contitus world were it is possible to be viewing or listening to information, music, or even pure nonsense virtually every waking hour. If we want to have the inspiration on the holy ghost we must find time to slow down, ponder, pray and live so we are worthy to receive and act upon his promptings. We will avoid major mistakes if we heed his warnings. It is our privilege as members to receive light and knowledge from him even to the perfect day.
Quentin L. Cook
Quorum of the Twelve
Now I understand that I probably got something more out of these than anyone else and that they mean more to me but you just never know when something like this may help someone who was not able to watch today. I love our heavenly father with my whole heart and soul and truly believe that he has sent us Prophets seers and revalators so that he may guild us along the path that he sees fit for us. I trust that what was said today was of true inspiration from above and that we are each loved so very much. I know that I will take to heart these things and apply them to my life as best as I can. My only hope is that you get out of these quotes what is truly inspiring to you and do the same. We truly are a lucky being to be able to have the full gospel in our lives. I don't know where I would be without it. I say these things in the name of our Heavenly Father. Amen.

What a day out....Land Between the Lakes

Ok so normally on a General Conference Saturday I would be at home watching it with everyone else in America but today was such a beautiful day and I have not had the chance to really spend so good quality time with my husband or kids as a family so we decided to go to Land Between the Lakes today instead and I recorded the session for today which I will watch tonight after the kids are in bed. Anyway the kids really wanted to go and see the Elk and Bison so that is what we did. It was a beautiful drive out there and the kids were so well behaved the whole day. I love when we have days like that. Anyway here are a few of the pictures that I took today.

This is the Elk that we got to see on the trail. They are all Female and Babies. We did not get to see any Males today. Snif Snif. DJ really wanted to see how big they really got.
At our first stop there was a park ranger there and he had this set of antlers that had been shed by a 6 year old Male Elk and so we got to pose with them. This is Dale showing what he would look like as an Elk. Silly man. The Antlers weighed about fifteen pounds together. Man can you imagine carrying that around on your head all summer long. Not me.

Here I am with them. They were way to heavy for me to put on my head so I just held them. They were really smooth too. That was surprising to me.

Here is Dj with one of them. He had a hard time holding them both at the same time. See the expression on his face. He he he. Silly boy.

Here is Elyssa. She almost fell over when I let go of hers so she had to use her knee to hold it up while I took the picture.

Here are the kids and I at the first stop. We didn't see any animals but that wasnt for lack of trying trust me.

Here is Dale and the kids all looking for animals. They really wanted to see some Elk and Bison today.
Here are my little posers standing on a big rock in the park. They really were cheesing it up this time.

Here I am with the kids in front of a bunch of Bison. They put a fence so that people could take a picture in front of them without worrying about getting hurt. The sun was facing us so the kids had a hard time opening their eyes to take the picture. Look at Elyssa's face it is clasic.

Again but this time with Dale and the kids. Now they are both being silly. It really wasn't that bad out there. I think they just wanted to goof off.
Here are a few of the Bison that we got to see. The one in the middle decided that after I took the picture he was going to poop. Dj thought that was really gross. Im just glad I didn't catch it on camera. That would have been really gross.
Anyway that was the high lights of our wonderful day. Blog at you later.

Random Dozen on Easter

1. How do you feel about the marshmallow Easter Peeps? As a kid I loved them but as an adult not so much. I don't know when it changed but it did.

2. Chickens are notoriously nervous creatures. When you are nervous, what is the best way to calm down? to just get it over with. whatever it is I am doing that makes me nervous. I can't say anything really helps so I just do what I have to and then I am fine.

3. People say, "April showers bring May flowers." Do you enjoy Spring rains? I would have to say yes unless it rains for more than two days in a row or in a week.

4. When I was randomly flipping through TV channels this week, I saw a show in which tattoo parlor employees received tattoos of a co-worker's face on their bodies. I can't imagine having a portrait of a colleague tattooed on me. But if someone forced you to receive a portrait tattoo (face only) of anyone, who would it be? Why? I'm gonna say my husband because I am a stay at home mom so he is my only co-worker.

5. Would you rather have a tattoo (any kind) or a nose ring? Ummm ya I would say a nose ring because I can't do tattoos. To scared of needles and at least with a nose ring it's quick and over with fast. Where as a tattoo is a long process.

6. Do you have any special plans for Easter? No because my kids have informed me that they are to old for that and they know its me and not some magical bunny bringing them their baskets and eggs. He he gotta love that age.

7. Cadbury Eggs or Reese Eggs? YES! I love them both.

8. What was the last thing/person you took a picture of? that would be of my daughter and the two little girls that I babysat last weekend.

9. What book are you reading now, or what was the last one? I am reading the book "Last Song" now that I have seen the movie. I tend to read the books first and then not like the movie so I decided to watch the movie first and then read the book and see how that works out.

10. What do you think is the most difficult task when it comes to Spring cleaning? I can't say any of it is that difficult. I personally love that time of year.

11. How many pairs of flip-flops do you own? one at the moment but by the end of summer probably about 20 or so. I love flip-flops.

12. Which color makes you happiest? Duhhhh that would be PINK.

Home bound and Girls night out.

So I got a call from Dale this morning to tell me that he would be home around 12:30. Yahhhh I am so ready for him to be here. I hate when he goes away. I told Ryan that I thought it was crazy how much it really bothered me this time when he left. Normally it wouldn't bother me as much. Yes I would miss him like crazy but I always got through it. This time I thought I was going to go crazy missing him so much. I don't understand why though. Anyway I didn't go to Zumba or anything. I stayed home and got my house ready for when he got home. He finally got here at about 1:00 and I greeted him happily. He went and put his stuff away while I waited in the living room playing on my phone. He came back and kissed me and we talked for a bit then I was laying on the couch and we started to play around and he was trying to pinch my booty and I was squirming and all of the sudden all the legs on the couch broke. We both started laughing so hard. Finally we got up and tried to fix them but it didn't work so I told him we needed to go and get some wood and make some legs for the couch because without them the couch literally sat on the floor. It was crazy. So we waited for the kids to get home from school then treated them out to Cici's pizza since I had a coupon for it. Then went to Lowe's to get the wood and nails. When we got home we fixed the couch and hung out until about 8:30 and I put the kids to bed and left to go out with my girls ( Ryan, Niki, Christie, Michelle and another girl but I don't remember what her name was. sorry ) to see the movie " The Last Song". It was a great movie. You laugh a lot at first and then you cry. That's all I'm going to say about it. Afterwards we all stood outside and talked for about two and a half hours. We laughed and cryied all over again and talked about how to get back at pranksters in a funny way and how to fix my problems with Dj and we all decided to fast about it this Sunday and what we were going to do at camp and laughed and laughed and laughed. It was great. I really needed that night out. I think we should make it a monthly tradition. Maybe not stand next time though. My feet where killing me by the time we left. We all got a lot out and helped each other. Finally we all left at about 2:15 am and headed home. I got home at about 2:30 and now going to bed.
