Meet me on Monday

1. What are you wearing right now?
Well considering that it was a late start to the day due to this fabulous weather we are having I am wearing blue jeans, a tee and my favorite flip flops.
2. Do you have any freckles?
A few not much that are really noticeable. Mostly on my arms and a few on my face.
3. What is your favorite Lifesaver flavor?
I like any candy that is watermelon flavored but I'm not sure that they make that flavor for lifesavers so I am going to go with cherry.
4. What is the last movie you saw in the theater?
I want to say The Twilight Saga: Eclipse but I'm thinking there had to be another one since then but I just cant think of it right now. That's pretty bad but I'm going to blame it on the fact that I was up all night thanks to that lovely storm we had last night.
5. Would you rather live without TV or without music?
Without TV without a doubt. I can handle no TV, I can not handle no music. Its what puts me in a good mood.

Sunday....A day of rest.

today I was all ready to go to church and woke up feeling like poop. I hate when that happens. Instead I went back to bed and by the afternoon I was feeling better. It was a pretty lazy day for the most part. Later Dj was having a break down so Dale took him and left for about two hours. Once they got back Elyssa wanted to spend some alone time with daddy so they left for a couple of hours then returned. I had a blow out with Shannon and then I hibernated for the rest of the day.

Dj's second Saturday game

Well Dj had his next game today and he was about half and hour late to the game. My bad its hard to get everyone together in time to go. Next week we will be on time. Although his game next week will be at 9 am which will mean we need to be there at 8:30. Ya that's early. Anyway his coach coaches two teams and they played each other today. Dj's team lost this week. It was a good game all around. The score was 41-26.

After the game we dropped mom and the kids off and then headed out to pay some bills and try to find out where Elyssa's friend lived. Turns out she lived way out in the boonies and it took us about half an hour just to get to her house. Elyssa didn't want to leave cause she was having such a good time. But she finally left with us without to much of a problem. After all that we went to Wal-mart and I picked up a few things for my car then headed home.

Well that's it. Blog at you later.

A day with no Kids

So today was a pretty calm day around the house. The kids all came home from school then headed over to their friends houses. They stayed gone all day and it was a quiet day. Everyone of them spent the night at friends houses including my kids. So it was a night of just the adults. Man now I think I could get use to this. It was so nice to be able to sit around and watch TV without anyone yelling or fighting. Just quiet. We watched Smallville. Without anyone commenting about what was going on. It was a good night.

The Missionaries came over and we had dinner with them then talked about how we can connect with the kids to bring them closer to the gospel. It was a good talk. I really think that as we take it slow with them they will all come around and really enjoy the new way of life. I have to tell them on a daily basis that they no longer live in California and they can't have the same attitude toward life that they had out there. I understand they are young and just don't get it but I think in time they will. They also have to deal with the fact that they just lost their father less than a year ago and on top of that they had a big move n January. I know that is not what you are suppose to do but when your world is falling apart around you, you need to do what is best, so they made the move here and so far its not going as smoothly as we hoped. First the job mom had set up fell through then the apartment she was going to get ended up having more work that needed to be done to it and would take at least six months to finish. Then just when we thought things would start looking up mom got into a car accident and lost the car. Now the apartment complex I live in is saying they can no longer stay here. So now what. Well things have started to turn around, Mom got a job and now qualifies for a help program to get her into a house and Dale told me that if I can get a job soon that makes enough money for me to cover my own car payment and insurance and he saves about 2000.00 so that he can get a truck then he will sell mom his car since it is all paid for. That way she doesn't have to rely on anyone to get her around. I know how that feels considering that I had to wait three years before I could get a car of my own. Anyway now that things are finally going in the right direction we can all look forward to a brighter future.

well that's all for now. Blog at you later.

Toe Party

So with all the stress going on in my life at the moment I really just needed to get out of the house. So I went on facebook to see what everyone was up to tonight and saw that Christie was having one of her famous Toe Parties again. I called Michelle to see if she was going and she said yes so I told Dale I was going. He said fine. Despite the on coming storm I drove my new car to her house but it has been so long since I actually drove out to her house I missed the road and had to turn around. I got there by about 8:10 and most of the girls were already there. We each did our toes (except for Alisha cause she didn't want to so she did her fingers instead) and made them all pretty. Most of the girls did green toes with Shamrocks since St Patricks day is just around the corner but I figured no one really sees your toes so I went with a really pretty opalescent purple and put a cute Lil bow tie on each big toe. We all sat around gabbing and laughing and playing Ferret bowling and listened to the storm as it passed by the house. Carmen had to leave early cause she got a text from her daughter saying a tree fell on the house which was ironic because she was just say not 10 minutes before that that she hoped one of the big oak trees wouldn't fall on her house. Turns out it wasn't an oak but a pine but either way she ended up with a tree on her roof and a leaking ceiling all night long. At about 12:00 we all said our good byes and headed home. It was a blast and something I really needed. Now the next big thing I can't wait for is Time out for Women. That's coming up soon.

Wednesday HodgePodge

1. Did you know there is a National Day of pretty much everything in the universe? February 23 happens to be National Inconvenience Yourself Day...when was the last time you were inconvenienced?
Lately everyday is an inconvenience. Will explain later.

2. When a room in your house needs painting who does the job?
Well since I live in an apartment neither of us paint. When it needs a paint job the maintenance does it.

3. Are you friends with your cousins?
I don't know. I don't really talk to many of them. I am facebook friends with most of them but don't actually talk to them face to face.

4. Do you use an alarm clock? If yes-is it an actual alarm, music, or something else?
Yes I actually use two of them. One set to wake the kids up at 5 so they can get ready for school and the other set so that I will get up at 6:45 to take them to school.

5. What do you put ketchup on?
Nothing I hate ketchup.

6. What smells make you nostalgic?
Not really smells mostly music brings me back to the old days.

7. Have you heard about the high school English teacher recently suspended as a result of some things she wrote in her personal blog? You can read the story here but in a nutshell she vented a lot of frustration onto her blog. She didn't mention individual students by name but she did make some harsh comments about kids in general and their parents.
What are your thoughts-If you're a parent is your child's teacher online and are you 'friend' or 'follower' there? If you're a teacher are you on facebook and do you accept or friend students on fb? How about their parents? If you're a student are you friends with your current or former teachers online? Do any of them have blogs you read? If you're a teacher or a parent do you ever use your blog as a place to vent your frustrations with our educational system? So much to discuss...
No I am not facebook friends with any of my old teachers and as far as I know none of them read my blog. Personally I think if it was her own personal blog and she didn't mention any names then she has a right to say how she feels. That is what a blog is for. Its like a diary. I don't think she should have gotten in trouble for saying how she felt.

Mcklinky Monday excpet on Tuesday

So today's topic is one tank road trips.

Our family has a tradition of going to this great place in NC, called Cherokee. We usually meet up with my in laws and have a great weekend followed by a day in Pigeon Forge. We always have a wonderful time in both places and they are only about three to four hours away. I would post pictures but I don't have any on my computer right now because I just loaded them onto a disc.

Mom at Church

So today's will be short cause I don't like to be on the computer on Sunday so here goes. A couple of days ago mom and I got to talking heart to heart and I bore my testimony to her about how great being apart of this wonderful church is and after a long talk mom agreed to come to church with me. At first I thought for sure she would back out and not go but when I got up this morning and asked her if she was still going she said yes. She got up got dressed and went to church with me. It was a great meeting today. I think this was meant to be. I have really been praying for a few things but one of them was more Missionary moments and he dropped my mother and four younger siblings in my lap. Wow I really need to be careful what I pray for. Lol.

Djs First Basketball Game

So Dj had his first two basketball games today. He did really well once he got his bearing and figured out where he was suppose to be and what he is suppose to be doing. Lol he was so cute. His first game was at 12:45 and his team won 53-21. His second game started at 2 and his team won 45-34. They were both really great games. I wanted to post a video but it was to long and it wont load. When I get my computer completely fixed I will post pictures.

Later mom and I went out to Michelle's house for her Pampered Chef party. We didn't get anything but we had a blast hanging out with all the girls. Mom had a really good time and we didn't get home until almost midnight. I really enjoyed my night out. I am going to have to do that more often.

a day with my hubby

so today I got to spend the day with my husband. We got up and took all the kids to school then enjoyed a nice breakfast together. After wards Dale was still a little tired from working the night before so we went back to bed. I intended on sleeping only a couple of hours then getting up and heading out to take my mom to look for a job but I ended up sleeping until almost two o'clock. Mom didn't waste any time though she got herself dressed and walked up and down Madison st putting in apps where ever she could. Lets hope something comes of all that hard work. Lol. After everyone was home we all cleaned the house and the kids did their homework. Later they all went out to play except for Dj because he had basketball practice since his first game is on Saturday. Once everyone was home for the night the missionaries came over to give the first lesson to mom and the kids. Ryan even stopped by and stayed for the lesson. I think it went pretty well and mom even agreed to go to church with me on Sunday. Well that's all for now

Wednesday HodgePodge

1. Your favorite chocolate treat?
Wow there are so many I really like so I will say German Chocolate cake is my favorite.

2. What more than anything else makes you feel loved?
By doing small things for me that is unexpected and when I receive something home made that really makes me feel loved.

3. Cherries or blueberries?
Both but only if they are fresh...not a big fan of frozen or in a can.

4. What is the one trait you most want the leader of your country to posess?
That is a good question and one I think I will have to ponder over so that it doesn't sound cliche.
5. Are you a saver or a spender?
I would have to say I am a spender and my husband is a saver so we balence eachother out.

6. If you gave a party for all of your friends would they already know each other?
Ya I pretty sure at least 90% of them already know eachother and hang out together. The rest either live out of town or out of state.

7. Are you interested in antiques?
Always interested in antiques. I love to know the history behind the stuff. My husband of all people is a big antiquer believe it or not.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Patience is a virtue that I know I don't have and the good lord is testing me on right now. I understand we all have our own trials that we must endure through but why do some seem to be so trivial and easy to learn while others seem to last forever. I hope I can learn this one quickly. I know I know Patience. LOL

Mcklinky monday but on Tuesday

Today I am asking ...How do you Celebrate Valentines Day? Is it an extra special day for you? OR is every day an extra special day? Did you celebrate over the weekend with a romantic dinner out? Or did your sweetie cook you a romantic dinner at home?
Ok so today's question is about Valentines day and if you celebrate it or not. Well I'm pretty sure I have said many many many time that my husband and I do not celebrate it for a couple of reasons. First it is way to commercial. The Card company's have just over run this holiday and made it so nauseating that I don't understand how anyone can stand it unless of course it is your Anniversary also. Second we show our special love to each other each and everyday of the year why should there be just one day a year where people should treat each other so special. I think if you are truly in love you should show that person everyday that you have together. This life is so short why waste it on anything else.
So that is my ramblings for the day. I hope you enjoy.

Meet me on Monday

1. Did you get any Valentine's Gifts?
No because my husband and I dont celebrate Valentines day because we show our love each and every day that we are together.

2. What is your favorite topping on something toasted?
Peanut butter or Jam

3. Do you pick out your outfit the night before?
Not usually unless it is for something really speacial or important.

4. What food item do you absolutely despise?
That would have to be peas. I can't stand them. Never have even as a child my parents did almost everything to them to make me like them and I just can't get past the fact that they are gross.
5. Righty or lefty?
Righty but I can so some things with my left.

Two sundays in a row.....Yeahhhhhhh

I have to say that being able to go to church every sunday just feels wonderful. We again had wonderful lessons that I think I really needed to hear. I love being able to get those messages first hand. It was extra special today because Dale was able to join us at church today. Plus my little sister Shannon came along also. I love having my whole family at church with me. Now if I can just get the Whole family to go at least once I would be very happy.

Later in the day I did my nails and then ALL the girls wanted theirs done to. So I did moms first then the other girls nails. I got about five sets of nails in one day. Can we say stinky. My house took forever to air out. Sorry hunny. lol. After all that Ryan came over and we watched a couple of movies. It was nice to just hang out with her since it seems I never see her anymore. Crazy we moved closer to eachother and still never see each other. Anyway that's all that happened today that I can remember.

A week off

So all the kids have been out of school all week due to this wonderful winter weather that just will not go away. It hasn't been to bad considering that most of the week the spent the night at friends houses so it stayed pretty quiet around here. I am glad they are going back to school on Monday though. I might just go nuts if they are home for another week.

Wednesday HodgePodge

1. What is more important-doing what you love or loving what you do?

2. Do you like bleu cheese?
Yes but only with hot wings.

3. What is the most difficult emotion for you to handle?
I would have to say Anger. It seems the older I get the less patients I have for stupidity.

4. Fresh flowers or a box of chocolate?
Both. Athough neither of them last very long they are both great to have.

5. What's a song you love that has the word 'love' in its title? It doesn't have to be a 'love song'.
Can't bye me love by the Beatles

6. Are you the person you wanted to be when you grew up?
I use to not think so but I seem to be growing into myself. lol

7. Any special Valentines Day plans?
Not really we tend not to celebrate Valentines day because we celebrate it every day. To us it is just another day.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
No thoughts for today.

Mcklinky Monday's but on Tuesday

SO today's topic is your top five Pet Peeves. I don't have very many...well two to be exact so I will just list those.

1.Texting/talking on the phone while driving:

I would have to say this is my number one pet peeve. I can't understand why anyone would want to put themselves or others in that kind of danger over something that can wait until you are out of the car or at least stopped. I tend to get on to my husband about this subject all the time. I hope he gets it soon.

2.Disrespect toward adults:

It seems that with this generation of children they have lost their respect for adults. I don't understand how this has happened in just one generation considering that when I was a kid if I even so much as looked cross at my parents I got a laying into that made me think twice before doing that again. For some reason everyone has gotten it into their minds that disciplining your children is harming their self esstem. I mean really I was corrected on a daily basis with my parents and I turned out just fine. This generation thinks it ok to say no or choose which rules they want to follow and others they do not and don't expect any consequences. Or the fact that they feel that they can say anything they want to you and you have to just except it. Im sorry but in my childhood we not only respected our parent but feared for our lives when we didn't.

Also what is with all these kids and cussing all the time. I understand that we all did it as children and some of us are still doing it but why do these kids feel it is alright to just blurt out cuss words when ever they feel like it.

Meet me on Monday

Yes I did. I was rooting for the Stealer's to win but the Packers did. Its OK cause both teams were good team. I just wanted to see my dad's team get their butts kicked.

2. What is the last book that you read?
The Twilight Series. I have read those books at least thirty times each but I can't put them down.

3. What is your favorite kind of cake?
German Chocolate....or cheesecake

4. Do you snore?
according to my husband yes but only if I sleep on my side.

5. Do you play an instrument?
No but I want to learn the piano. Anyone know how... want to teach me?

Sunday

Yeah I got to go back to church today and in the words of my dear friend Ryan I am no long enactive. Ha ha. It was so nice to wake up get dressed and be to church on time today even though my husband was working a double. I am so happy to finally be back at church again.

Kids day

The kids got to spend their allowances today. Dj saved all year and finally got himself a x-box 360 slim. He is so happy now. He gave his old PS3 to his sister so now she has a system to play also. Not that she every really plays it anyway but whatever she is happy. Elyssa spent her money at Justice of course. She got three outfits and a purse for about 70 bucks. I think they both did pretty well for what they got.

We got our taxes

Ok so today we finally got our taxes back and I was finally able to go and get my car. Yeah for me. I took about three cars for a test drive before picking my car. I got a White 2005 Chevy Cobalt. I am loving it. It is so nice to finally have my own wheels. Now I can go back to church every Sunday and not have to worry about being home early on Wednesday nights. Now I have to get a job. Its fine with me though. I have to get one anyway. I will post pictures when the weather is better.

A day out with my Husband

It seems lately that we have been able to spend a lot more time alone than we use to. This is a great thing for us. Can I just say I am loving having my family out here now. We use to not be able to go out on regular dates because there was no one to watch the kids for us but now we are able to go out every week and spend good quality time together.

Like today for instance. We got to go and spend the whole day just the two of us and not be worried about how the kids are and if they are behaving themselves. I am loving this.

Wednesday HodgePodge

1. Would you rather be seen as a person who did their duty or forged their own path?
I would have to say someone who forged my own path. I have always been one to march to a different drummer so to speak.

2. This week's Wednesday Hodgepodge happens to fall on Groundhog's Day. In keeping with that theme, if you could have a do-over of any one day out of the last seven, which day would it be and why. If you haven't seen the movie Groundhog Day this question will make absolutely no sense but that's okay....you can answer anyway.
You thought my question was going to be weather related didn't you?
I don't believe in do overs because we are who we are because of the choices we had made.

No I do not wear makeup every day. But when I do wear it I have to have at least lipstick and eye shadow.

Wow that is a hard one. I cant say I would choose just one. I know I am both but they are both very important to me to make a relationship work.

6. Parsley sage rosemary or thyme... your favorite?
All the above. I use them all on a regular basis.

7. What do you do when you feel angry?
Yell and scream most of the time. I don't belive in holding in your emotions.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Can this snow please stop. I am ready for spring already.
