Busy busy day

So today started out early. Dale and I got up at 7:30 and got dressed and left the house. We need some alone time so we went to the bookstore and then went to pay a couple of bills then we went to Hobby Lobby so that I could pick up some stuff to make Valentines Day cards. Then headed to the store to pick up some breakfast stuff. After we got back to the house and everyone ate we all loaded up and went to look at the duplex. Ofcourse Dale totally fell in love with the place and said we could put our application in today. I knew he would love it. After we put our application in we went to go find the place Dale needs to be for his interview for the Police Dept. on Monday. Yes he is moving right along in the process. Much faster than I was expecting him to. I think this whole process is going to take much less time than either of us were thinking it would. But that is a good thing because he is ready for a change. I think he is about over the hour drive one way to work and the 400 a month in gas. I cant blame him there I wouldn't want to do that either. Anyway after dropping off our stuff mom needed to find a place to sell some of her stuff. After all was done we all headed home and just spent the rest of the day hanging out and laughing at each other. It was a great day.

Found a new place to live

So mom has been looking for a new place to live since the down stairs apartment seems to be taking forever to get done and I don't think either of our sanitise will make it through much longer. So after picking up an apartment guild I found a place here in Clarksville that is close and keeps the kids in the same school zone. After calling the place we went and picked up a key to look at the place. Can I just say WOW these are some really nice duplexes. They are brand new, just built and not to many people are living in them. Plus they are not even done yet. They are still building about twenty more units. Anyway after we looked at them and everyone fell in love I went home and talked to Dale about them. He said he wanted to see them for his self and I said that was fine with me. We are planning to go tomorrow. I will update you as to how it all goes. Anyway mom and I both got applications and filled them out. Mom already turned hers in but I have to wait until Dale sees the place before I put mine in. I really hope that he likes the place because I am in love.

A day alone with my hubby

Today was a day of just relaxing. It was Dales first day off and we just spent the day hanging out and talking. It was really nice not having everyone around. We don't seem to get that very often these days but when we do its something we take advantage of quickly. I love having a husband that I can talk to so openly and know that he understands what I am going through. Hes not a fixer but a listener and I know how rare that is to find in a good man. I lucked out when I got my husband and I'm not letting him go for anything. I love you babe.

Wednesday HodgePodge

1. Will you watch the Super Bowl? If so who will you root for? If you are outside the USA what is the 'big deal sporting event' in your own country?
Yes I will watch the Super Bowl. It is one of my favorite sporting events to watch. This year the Greenbay Packers and the Pittsburg Stealers are going to the Super Bowl. I will be rooting for the Pittsburg Stealers (sorry dad).

2. Is ignorance bliss?
It can be depending on the situation.

3. Which of the seven dwarfs are you? (and just in case your Disney is a little bit rusty, here they are-Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy)
I would have to say on most days Happy but I have my Grumpy days too.

4. When you are riding in the car with another couple how do you organize the seating? (Men up front? Women up front? Couples sit together?) And thanks to Lori at Mountain Woman at Heart for the question! Everyone go say hi to Lori.
Usually couples sit together but it just depends on who we are going out with. Sometimes its guys up front and girls in back.

5. What is beauty?
Beauty is confidence in one's self. I think that confident people (woman) are very beautiful. I don't mean cocky though. A cocky person is not pretty what so ever.

6. If someone asks you to bring an appetizer or a dessert to a party in their home, which would you choose?
Usually a dessert because it is always good to have good sweets after a great meal.

7. What is your crowd pleasing go-to appetizer?
I don't think I really have one. If I am having some sort of party I usually go to Subway and get the party tray. That always seems to do the trick.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Enough with the snow already. Don't get me wrong I love the snow but this winter is really pushing my buttons with all the school closings. When will it be Spring already.

Snow day.

Today the kids were out of school because we got 4 inches of snow last night. Then I find out that they will also be out again tomorrow. It was a crazy day. I managed to organize my scrapbooking stuff a little more and re-arrange my movies. I went and filed taxes today. We are not getting as much back as we thought but it is fine we are still getting back enough to do what we need to do. We also got some very much needed advice and council on how the whole tax thing works. Believe it or not as many years as we have been filling our tax's no one has every explained how it all works. Now that we know all that information we will have a better tax return next year. Anyway Now I am finishing up blogging then I need to fix dinner. So with that being said.

A quiet house

Today was the first day all the kids were in school. It was so nice to clean my house in the morning and it stay that way all day. I loved it. Plus it was so quiet in the house. This will be my last week babysitting. I will miss those kids but its time to go to the next step.

Meet me on Monday

1. What is your favorite kind of fudge?
I don't really eat it so I can't say I have a favorite kind of fudge.

2. Is there snow outside your window?
Yes and I love it just not the cold.

3. What is your favorite meal of the day?
Probably lunch cause I don't have a whole house full of people to feed. Just myself and Zack for now.

4. Do you text on your cell phone?
Yes most of the time I am either texting or e-mailing someone. I don't talk much on the phone. But then again it just depends on who I am talking to.

5. Waffles or pancakes?
Both but Waffles are easier to make. I just pour the batter into the griddle and close the lid, a few minutes later I have a waffle. Pancakes on the other hand take time to make.

Superbowl winners.

Again I slept through my alarm and didn't wake up in time for church. Of course Dale didn't wake me when he got home either and so another Sunday gone.

On the other hand I did watch both the football games today and was very pleased with both outcomes. The Greenbay Packers played the Chicago Bears and won 21-14 and the Pittsburg Stealer's played the New York Jets and won 24-19. I am so glad that the Greenbay Packers and the Pittsburg Stealer's are going to Superbowl 45. I would put the other symbols but I can't remember what they are. Ha ha. I should know but I don't. Either way my Dad (who is the Packers fan) and my best friend (who is the Stealer's fan) are both very happy thier teams are in the Superbowl. Now I like both teams just fine (neither of which are my favorite) so I think no matter who wins it will be a great turnout. I will be watching on February 6, 2011. Will you?

Skill's Camp

Today was a day of deep cleaning. Which took up most of the morning then Dale and I headed out to run a couple of errands before returning to pick up the kids and take them to Burt's School. Dj had a Skills camp today from 3:30-4:45. We were told he had to be there for the 2:00 camp but he was to old for that one so we ended up staying there from 1:45 to 4:45. A little longer than I wanted but Dj got to learn just what to expect when his skill camp came up. It was a very interesting day. He learned a lot and is planning on going to the next skill camp next Saturday. I think he is really going to enjoy this Basketball thing.

After we got home I made dinner for everyone and then we watched a couple of movies and played a couple of games. Everyone is hitting the hay now and it is about 2:00 in the morning. Wow it has been a long time since I was up this late. Well I'm headed to bed now.

Snow day

So with the snow we got last night there was no school. That is to be expected. Now the question is what are they going to do about the make up day. I am hoping for a holiday but the kids seem to think it will be a 30 min thing again this year. I guess we shall see. All I know is they are all outside having a blast right now and I am nice and warm in my house. Lets hope the weekend goes smoothly.

Feeling better.

Ok so today I am feeling much better. So glad to be over this cold I had. I took my sister with me today to go to my scrap booking club that meets every Thursday. We were suppose to help Diana organize her craft room but it just turned into a gab fest. Afterwards we went out to lunch and Diana took us home. Let's hope next time we can actually get something done. Who knows with us. Ha ha.

Today was just another normal day of mom trying to find a job and house of her own. We also had a big family meeting. Of course not everyone left that meeting happy but hey what can I say this is still my house and I still have rules that need to be followed. I don't care who is staying here I will not be walked all over no matter what. Other than that I would say it was a successful meeting. We addressed a lot of issues we were having and solved them without much complaint.

After all that we had a big ole family movie night and Noah made everyone a hamburger. They were really good. We watched a couple of really good movies and then I started having issues with my vision. I think it is caused from lack of sleep but if it doesn't get better by tomorrow I will have to go and have them checked out. We shall see.

Wednesday HodgePodge

1. Do you like your name? Were you named after someone? If you have children how did you settle on their names?

Yes I like my name although as a kid I did not mostly because no one could pronounce it so I went by my middle name ( Christine) for most of my junior and senior high years. Yes I was named after both of my Grandmothers. Mostly because I was suppose to be a boy and they had no girls name picked out for me so they named me after them. I do have children. Two of them a boy and a girl. My sons name was an easy one I always wanted to name him James but not as a first name so I picked out Bailey but my mom didn't like it so we went to a book store and looked through a bunch of books and came up with Dominic James Sellers but I also liked the name Armon so he became Dominic James-Armon Sellers. As for my daughter, My husband wanted to name her after his mother and I was fine with that except her first name was Arleen and I couldn't do that to my daughter so I looked online and found a name that went with it and hence she became Elyssa Arlene Bellard.

2. How do you define success?

Not really by what you do for a career or what you have physically but by how people perceive you as a person and by your character. If you are well liked and no one has anything bad to say about you than I would say you would be successful.

3. Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy?

Neither I don't have time to watch a lot of TV these days.

4. If you could own any single object that you don't have now, what would that object be?

A house. Simply put I want my own house. Not renting or leasing but owning.

5. What is something that inspires you?

Believe it or not my husband and kids inspire me more than anything else in this life. They truly make me want to be a better person.

6. Meatloaf-yea or nay? If its a ya how do you make yours?

Yes I love meatloaf and I make it lots of different ways. I really don't think I have ever made it the same way twice.

7. Which is more admirable-the ability to organize and be methodical or the ability to adapt and make do?

I would have to say the ability to adapt and make do with what you are given. It has been my experience that if you fight it you will only bring pain apon yourself and others.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

It is not about being better than anyone else
But about being better than yourself.

Sick again

Man it seems I just cant stay healthy this winter season. I don't know why but my body just seems to want to catch every cold and flu that is going around this year. I hope it stops soon because I am really getting sick of being sick all the time. I'm going to bed now so that I hope I will feel better tomorrow.

Meet me on Monday

1. Do you like your ice cream in a dish, waffle cone, pretzel cone, sugar cone or cake cone?
Most of the time I get it in a dish because its easier to eat then in a cone but if I were to get it in a cone it would be in a waffle cone.

2. Do you read the newspaper daily?
No mostly because it is bad news and because any information I can get in a paper I can get online. Why pay for a paper when the info is free.

3. Marinara or meat sauce?
Meat sauce

4. Last time you cried?
The other day I laughed so hard I cried. Does that count?

5. What word/phrase do you find really annoying?
I find a lot of the things my kids are saying now are annoying. I understand every generation has its slang words but really most of the things these kids are coming up with now are not original at all. That's what makes them annoying.

No Church

Wow so today I was totally planning on getting up and going to church today only to be texted by my husband at 5:00 in the morning to tell me that they are keeping him over today and he wont be home until about 3:00 pm. Ya that sucks. Mom was suppose to go and talk with the bishop today but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Oh well.

I really can't wait to get my car so that I don't have to worry about this anymore. Lets hope Dale gets his taxs in soon.

Ready to move on

Today we all got out of the house and went our seperate ways. Mom took the kids and went to find a job for her and the two boys and then took the girls to get some shoes for school on Monday.

Dale and I took our kids and went to run some erronds and then just spend to day hanging out together as a family. Now that we have five other people living in our house with us we are a little cramped and ready for everyone to get their own place. We don't get to spend much time alone anymore unless we leave the house all together.

Don't get me wrong I am loving having my family here but I think it is becomeing a little to much for all of us to handle.

Anyway Blog at you later.

Nothing interesting

Today was a day of relaxing. Well for me anyway. Dale took mom around to finish up the things she needed to do then put the dog's in a kennal and then came home. I stayed home for most of the day until about 1:30 and then went visiting teaching to a couple of my girls. When I got home I just relaxed for the rest of the day.

That's all for now. Blog at you later.

Unloading the U-Haul

Today was a day of running around. We got up early, cleaned the house and then got ready for the day. After all was done we went and ran some errands and got a lot of things done. Mom got the kids enrolled in school so they will hopefully start on Monday. We unloaded the U-Haul and it was freezing the whole time. It took me, mom, Cheyenne, and Keanu about two and half hours to do our selves. I ended up with a frozen body and chapped lips by the end of the night. But at least it is done.

On to other things, Dj had his first Basketball practice today. I am so happy that he made the team. I think he is really going to love playing sports. Plus it will be a way for him to get out all that extra energy he has. At first we didn't think he made it cause it took the coach like a month and a half to contact us and let us know. Anyway he will be practing every Monday and Thursday. I can't wait for his first game.

Well that's all for today.

Wednesday HodgePodge

1. Every January 1st since 1976 Lake Superior University has published a list of words they'd like to see banished from the Queen's English. Words may be banished due to mis-use, over-use or just general uselessness and they receive over 1000 nominations. Here are the fourteen words/phrases they'd like to see banished in 2011-viral, epic, fail, wow factor, a-ha moment, back story, BFF, man up, refudiate, Mama Grizzlies, The American People, facebook/google when used as verbs, I'm just sayin', and Live life to the fullest.
What word or phrase would you like to see banished from our everyday vocabulary in 2011? You can choose one from the 'official list' or you can get creative and come up with your own.
My son uses a word all the time that is suppose to mean something like a cut down but I personally cant stand it. He says Cutter. That is a word I would love to see banished from our vocabulary. Also the word Can't. I don't believe in that word because if you really try you can do almost anything you put your mind to.

2. Do you consider opportunity something that comes to you or something you create for yourself?
A little of both I think. Most of the time I think we create our own opportunities.

3. Since we're all eating healthy this month, ahem, what's included in your favorite salad? Is there dressing?
My favorite salad has lettuce of course, tomatoes cucumbers, mushrooms, chopped ham once in awhile, and a small amount of dressing.

4. The fourth Monday in January is said to be Blue Monday...aka the most depressing day of the year. The date was calculated using many factors including weather, debt level, time since Christmas, time since we've failed at our new year resolutions, low motivation and feeling a need to take action. Do you get the blues this time of year and if so what is something you do to lift your spirits?
Not usually. I tend to make the best of whatever situation I am in.

5. Do you wear a watch? Any other everyday jewelry essentials?
Not usually because I have my phone on me and the only other jewelry is my wedding ring.

6. What is something useful you learned in high school?
That was so long ago I really don't remember. lol is that sad?

7. Do you use an accountant when completing and filing your income tax returns or do you attempt to muddle through all by yourself?
Never tired it myself to scared I will screw it up and end up being audited.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

No one will question your character if your character is not questionable.

Family arrived

Today my family finally arrived. I have been waiting all week for them to finally get here. It will be so nice to have them here all the time. It has been along time since I saw and spent time with my mom and my four younger siblings. I am really looking forward to getting to really know all of them again. Sorry so short but I am a busy woman today. Got to get everyone settled.

Yes even in the winter when they are covered up they are always painted. It just makes them look prettier.

3. What color eyes do you have?
Most of the time they are green but when I get mad or really sad they turn hazzle.

4. Look to your left....what do you see?
My daughters Piano she got for Christmas.

Soft always soft. They just taste better to me.

Sunday

Today was a day of relaxing. The kids and I just stayed in the house and played games all day since Dale had to work a double. Man I can't wait until I get my car so I don't have to miss anymore church. From what I hear it was a great service today. Oh well soon, very soon.

A day of cleaning

So today my eyes popped open at 8:00. I layed there and tried to go back to sleep for about thirty minutes but to no such luck so I got up and went into the living room only to find my beautiful daughter was already awake. About 9:00 Dale and Dj got up and we all ate breakfast. Then started cleaning the house. It really needed a serious cleaning. We spent most of the morning doing that then everyone took a shower and got ready for the day. After everyone was done. Dj asked if his room could be rearranged and we figured why not. It has been the same way since we moved in a little over a year ago. So we did that then the kids went outside to play while Dale and I just hung out together talking and having a good time alone. Its nice once in awhile to really have an adult conversation without the constant interruption of your kids. I almost forgot what that was like. Anyway later I made dinner and now everyone is off doing their own thing. Dale has to go to work tonight so I'm sure he is pressing his cloths or something and the kids are in their rooms. Now that my blogging is done for the day I am also off to do some reading and then hit they hay. So with that being said.

Great Day

Wow it has been a great day. Despite the fact that I had to be up at 4:45 again this morning. That could be in part to the fact that I went to bed at about 6:00 yesterday and got a great nights sleep, but who knows. The kids couldn't have been better. Zach behaved himself and Zoie didn't whine once. It was a great day. After the kids left we hung out at the house until dinner time then watched a couple of movies together as a family. Everyone is headed to bed now because it is after midnight. The only reason I am still up is because I made a promise to blog everyday. So far so good. Anyway I'm tired so I will go for now.

Tired Tired Tired.

Today was a very long day. I have been up since about 4:00 and have not had the chance to rest at all. Plus my little monthly friend decided that after torching me for three days it was finally time to come. Ya. Not a happy person. Anyway the baby was good for the most part but she didn't really sleep at all. When Lori showed up I let her know again that I was not going to be working for her after the end of January so she needed to have a back up plan. I will miss those kids but its time to move on to the next chapter in my life. Once my kids were home from school Dale took them to the gym so I can get in a nap. Lets just say I am exhausted. So with that being said I'm headed to bed. Night all.

Puzzling

So for one of my Christmas gifts I got a 10 puzzle box of scenic puzzles. I love doing puzzles in the Winter time. I think that might come from spending a whole year living with my grandparents who loved doing puzzles. Anyway I have gotten three of the ten done already. I did an easy 300 piece first and then moved onto a 500 piece that the kids helped with and then moved onto a 750 piece. I thought I would never get done with that one. As you can see it was pretty difficult so Dj stayed up a little after his bedtime tonight to help me finally get it done. Anyway here it is. I am pretty sure I will frame it and hang it somewhere in my house.

New Years Eve Reflection

I am borrowing this from a blog I saw featured on Beverly's Saturday Shout outs. I just couldn't pass it up. I just love doing these kinds of things. It lets people know who I am and gives me a chance to also let my kids and family know a little bit more about me. I hope you take this also and give others just another small chance to get to know you a little better.

20 Questions for a New Year’s Eve Reflection

1. What was the single best thing that happened this past year?
there were so many things but I would have to say that reconnecting with my mother after 10 years was a great thing.

2. What was the single most challenging thing that happened?
I cant say that just one thing stands out. It was an over all challenging year.

3. What was an unexpected joy this past year?
Getting to know my four youngest brothers and sisters. They are great. I can't wait for them to be here all the time.

4. What was an unexpected obstacle?
Having to get a job after being a stay at home mom for so many years.

5. Pick three words to describe 2010.
Short, unexpected, enjoyment.

6. Pick three words your spouse would use to describe your 2010 (don’t ask them; guess based on how you think your spouse sees you).
Strong, healthy, growth.

7. Pick three words your spouse would use to describe their 2010 (again, without asking).
Normal, easy, fast.

8. What were the best books you read this year?
This is an easy one. By far the best books I read this year are by an author called Beth Wiseman. I am sure everyone knows who she is but I just discovered her this year and I love the way she writes.

9. With whom were your most valuable relationships?
I would have to say first and foremost my wonderful husband who despite all my mood swings still loves me just as much if not more 12 years into our relationship. Secondly my beautiful children who are growing up so fast its hard to get good quality time in with them. And third but not last are all of my crazy wonderful friends who have stuck by my side and helped me through all the challenges I have faced. Thank you girls for everything you do for me. I hope I can be just as good of a friend as you have been to me.

10. What was your biggest personal change from January to December of this past year?
That would have to be my challenge in getting to the gym everyday. I am not happy about it considering that I use to be there everyday and now I am lucky to get there twice a month. I hope that 2011 will be much better.

11. In what way(s) did you grow emotionally?
I think I grow every day emotionally. It just depends on the day I suppose.

12. In what way(s) did you grow spiritually?
Same answer as #11

13. In what way(s) did you grow physically?
Well I really didn't grow physically at all this year. At the beginning I lost a bunch of weight and gained a few pounds back but I pretty much just maintained.

14. In what way(s) did you grow in your relationships with others?
My relationships grow with every passing day. They get stronger and better.

15. What was the most enjoyable part of your work (both professionally and at home)?
Well considering that I am mostly a stay at home mom and I babysit on the side I would say watching the young children grow and learn and mature everyday.

16. What was the most challenging part of your work (both professionally and at home)?
Getting attached to those children. It is only temporary and I know I will miss them very much when I move on to the next chapter in my life.

17. What was your single biggest time waster in your life this past year?
That would be without a doubt my use of the computer. While yes I have had less time than I wanted blogging I have spent more time doing other things like Facebook and other things. My goal for 2011 is to only be on the computer as needed. No more wasting time.

18. What was the best way you used your time this past year?
I got a job babysitting to help bring in a little more money for our family and I got the chance to really get into some good books this year.

19. What was biggest thing you learned this past year?
That time really is precious and moves very fast. Things are gone before you know it and you can't get the time back. To really take my time and enjoy my life and my family. These kids these days really are up and gone before you get a chance to really know them.

20. Create a phrase or statement that describes 2010 for you.
It was a long year in some ways and in others a very short year. I hope that the coming year I will be challenged in ways that will help me grow as a person. I hope that it goes a little slower so that I can take the time to really enjoy the true blessings in my life.

Happy reflecting! And pass over that bowl of popcorn.

Happy New Year 2011

Ok so this year instead of making the normal resolutions that every person in the world makes I have chosen to make a resolution about Blogging. I realized yesterday that I didn't quite make an entry for everyday last year. So this year my goal is to have at least 365 entries for the year of 2011. I also want to have more pictures on my blog. Most of my entries for 2010 we just word entries so I want to have pictures to go with the entries. I have decided that this will happen by carrying around my new little Nikon Coolpix L22 that I had to pick up just before Christmas. That's a long story so I won't go into it again.
We didn't really do anything for New Years Eve this year. For the first time ever that I can remember Dale was off of work for New Years Eve so we all just sat around in our PJ's and played a few games then watched the Dick Clark's Rockin New Years Eve Party with Ryan Secrest. After the ball dropped I cleaned up the living room and then we all went to bed.Today we went to go run a few erronds that needed to be taken care of for the day and picked up a container to hold all our Christmas Decorations in. Once we were done with all that we came home and took down the tree, put away all the decorations and rearranged the living room and cleaned out the closets that have been needing them for awhile now. I always seem to forget about those when I am doing my deep cleaning of the house every couple of months.
Anyway now we are all doing seperate things and going about our own intrests. Soon the kids will be going to bed since school starts back on Wednesday and they need to get back on their school schedules. Then I will send Dale off to work and hit the hay myself. So with that being said here are the pictures from New Years Eve. I hope you enjoy.
