General Conference 2010

Today was The 180th Annual General Conference and I got up and watched it just like everyone else in the world today. As I listened to the wonderful talks a few quotes popped out at me and I thought I would share them with you. Now I know that everyone gets out of every talk what is important to them and these are just a few of the things that were important to me. I hope you like them and get something out of them like me. It may not be the same thing as I did but I hope they help.



We are called to support and heal rather than condemn. We are commanded to mourn with those who mourn and comfort those who stand in need of comfort. It is unchristian of us to think that those who suffer deserve to suffer.

As the world becomes more devoid of foundational standards and as honor, virtue, and purity are increasingly cast aside in pursuit of appetite our understanding of and faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ will provide the strength and compasity needed for successful life. It is our Sacred responsibility as parents and leaders of this rising generation of children to bring them to the Savior so that they might see his face and the face of our Father in heaven as well. As we do we also bring ourselves.

We live in a noisy contitus world were it is possible to be viewing or listening to information, music, or even pure nonsense virtually every waking hour. If we want to have the inspiration on the holy ghost we must find time to slow down, ponder, pray and live so we are worthy to receive and act upon his promptings. We will avoid major mistakes if we heed his warnings. It is our privilege as members to receive light and knowledge from him even to the perfect day.

Now I understand that I probably got something more out of these than anyone else and that they mean more to me but you just never know when something like this may help someone who was not able to watch today. I love our heavenly father with my whole heart and soul and truly believe that he has sent us Prophets seers and revalators so that he may guild us along the path that he sees fit for us. I trust that what was said today was of true inspiration from above and that we are each loved so very much. I know that I will take to heart these things and apply them to my life as best as I can. My only hope is that you get out of these quotes what is truly inspiring to you and do the same. We truly are a lucky being to be able to have the full gospel in our lives. I don't know where I would be without it. I say these things in the name of our Heavenly Father. Amen.
