OK so I need to vent today. I went to church last night and had a great time but when I got home my house looked like it had been hit by a hurricane. I left my house to my husband and four kids and came home to it destroyed. I hate when you clean your house and leave it looking nice only to come home to ungrateful children who don't care about anyone but themselves and destroy other peoples stuff. I understand that kids are messy but when they are 8 and 10 there is no reason for them to be like slobs and leave their stuff everywhere. I'm not a maid although they seem to think I am and I am not going to keep picking up after children who could care less about their stuff. If they want to destroy it let them but I wont be buying them new stuff when its broken and now more good. Plus how crazy do you have to be to not know that when its raining you come in the house not stand out in the rain so you get sick. Sometimes I think these kids (and I'm not just talking about mine) leave their brains in bed when they get up in the morning.
OK now that my venting is done lets start the day off better. On the down side the kids found out that they will not be having field day at school this year due to the rainy weather. They were completely bummed. They so look forward to it every year and this will be the first time they wont get to go out and play. Instead they will get to do an indoor tug-o-war. Not as much fun but I'm sure the teachers will have tones of fun things for them to do in the classroom. I hope at least. On the up side they only have about 8 days of school left before they get out for the summer. We don't have a ton of plans for the summer but a few. I know for sure that Dale is taking them to North Carolina to spend some time with their grandparents the week that I am at Girls Camp and I am taking them to California to visit some of my extended family at the end of July. Other than that we are just planning to have a great time and do a lot of swimming at Michelle's house along with some nice pool parties. Yahhh I know I cant wait. So that's it for now but I am sure I will be posting again later on today.
I know how you feel about being a maid and not feeling appreciated. Mine of course are younger and I am still training to do stuff on their own. I have told them I made your room nice when we moved in and I don't have time to keep coming in here to clean it up again. They are getting better.lot for us.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that my Mom did when we were younger worked a lot for us. Give it a try if you think it might work. She would give us a set amount of time to clean our room. Anything that wasn't put away where it should be like toys on the floor or whatever went into a box. We had a set amount of days to work to get it back. That meant doing what she asked and there was an extra chore to do to gain that item back. If we didn't get it back she would take it to Salvation Army or whatever and have us watch our stuff be given away. After a few times of loosing some of our favorite stuff taken away we got serious and did better.
I can't wait for summer either. I love being outside and swimming. Dalten was bummed because of no field day at his school. I was bummed too as this is his first year of school.
thanks holly i will try that with the kids. Maybe it will work. heres hoping
