Being sick

Sorry I have not posted in a couple of days. I have been sick since Thursday. I had a very bad head cold. I was just hoping and praying that it didn't turn into pneumonia again. I really don't want to go through that again. I am feeling much better. I still have a cough but at least I have all m energy back.

Elyssa had a couple of friends over last night and it was nice to see her really enjoy herself again. Dale and Dj went on an overnight campout with the scouts last night. They should be home sometime tonight. I hope they had a good time and really learned something.

Well I don't have much to talk about so I'm going get off here.

Called to Serve

You know it may sound a little strange to some people but I really enjoy spending time driving the sister missionaries around and getting to really feel the spirit that they bring to peoples lives. Even if its just for the short moments we get to be with someone I feel like they are really connected to the spirit.

I was talking to my husband yesterday and telling him that I really feel like the whole reason I am called to be with the sisters right now is not only for the investigator's benefit but also  to help me grow in the gospel and in my testimony of this church and our Heavenly father. I know that as I am preparing myself and my family to go to the Temple and be sealed for all time and eternity that this is one of the ways that my loving Father in Heaven is helping me prepare. I am ofcourse doing other things that will help me but I feel as though I needed a boost so to speak to really get me in the right direction. I know that through my Father in Heaven I am able to get back on the right path and go wherever it is that He needs me to go.

Without a doubt I am one of the luckiest woman on this planet at the moment. I strongly encourage anyone who has the opportunity to go out and spend time with your missionaries whether they be Elders or Sisters you should do it. It will not only help them in their mission but it will help you be a better person. I was told once that if an investigator has a connection to someone in the ward they are more likely to not only be baptized but have a stronger hold in the church. I find this to not only be true because of what I was told but because on several occasions I have gotten to see it first hand. We should all be willing to give up a small piece of our time to do something to really help our missionaries in anyway we can. You may not be able to drive them around but you can have lessons taught in your home with an investigator. I know that sounds a little scary cause that means we have to get out there and open our mouths about what we really are. But its what God really wants us to do. He wants all of his children to know of Him and His Son and He really wants us all to be with Him again in heaven. We have to do what He is asking us to do no matter how scared we are. If there is only one thing I learn from this whole process it is this. Its hard to be rejected when you are opening up yourself to people but the end result is much better than not doing anything and letting that soul go without our Father in Heavens word and Love.

I know that this is probably not what you were expecting when you got ready to read this post but I really feel like someone out there in cyber world really needed to hear it. I hope I touched at least one persons life today and made you feel the calling to help.

Wednesday Hodge Podge

Im starting this weeks early since Im not sure of my day tomorrow.

1. Lake Superior University has once again published a list of words/phrases they think should be banished from the Queen's English...here's the list for 2013- fiscal cliff, kick the can down the road, double down, job creators/creation, passion/passionate, yolo (an acronym for you only live once), spoiler alert, bucket list, trending, superfood, boneless wings, and guru. Which of these words/phrases would you most like to see banished from everyday speech and why. Go here to read more about how the words were chosen.

I would have to say the first word I think should be banned from everyday speech is Guru. Mostly because no one is using it in the right sense. The true meaning of Guru is a intellectual or spiritual guild or leader. Not just anyone who thinks they are good at something.

2.  When was the last time you rode a train?  Where did you go?

Never. I have always wanted to ride a train but have never really gotten the chance.

 3. Bagels-yay or nay?  Favorite 'flavor'?  Favorite topping?

I say yay. I don't always want one but when I do they are good. I don't really have a favorite flavor or topping.

 4.  'Tis the season of awards shows...if you could star in a movie already made which one would you choose?

I don't really know that I would choose any of them honestly. I have a few that I loved seeing but I just don't want to be in the movies.

 5. The move towards single gender classrooms has been making the news in recent months....what say you?  Do you think kids perform better if seperated by gender and are taught differently or is that discrimination?  If you're a parent, is this something you'd support in regard to your own children?
I don't think that they need to be separated all the time but in some circumstances I think it would be a good thing. They really need the interaction with each other  because live is not divided by gender.

6. What's your favorite thing about staying in a hotel?

I would have to say having someone else do the cleaning for me at the end of the stay.

 7. Do you have a 'word' for 2013?  What's the story behind your choice?

since the year has just started I would say no for now.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I think my random thought for today is just to be open to anything that is coming your way. It may be for you or for someone else but you wont know that until its over.

Teens are so hard to get to open up

Today has been a day. I know that teens are full of emotions but Dj has just been full of them lately. I really think something is going on with him but he just wont talk to me about it. I want to help even if its just listening to him but I can't get him to tell me whats going on. He and his best friend have been getting into little tiffs here and there for awhile but they just blew up at eachother the other day and in the process Dj just let go at church and said some very inappropriate words. He understands that it was wrong but he wont say whats going on or what he is feeling. Uhhhhh he is so frustrating me. Why can't teens just express what they are feeling so we as Parents can help them through it. Sorry for the rant but I needed to get it out. I love my kids no matter what.

Wednesday Hodge Podge

Wednesday Hodge Podge

While I would normally do this on a Wednesday but since I just started posting again I thought I would start today and pick up again next Wednesday like normal.

1. What is ONE thing or area in your home or life you hope to report is completely organized when 2013 draws to a close?  Do you  have a plan to make it happen?

I would have to say that the one place in my home I hope to have completely organized by the end of 2013 will be my craft room. While it is already pretty organized it could certainly use more. I would like to get it done by putting up shelves and getting all my stuff on a computer to keep track of what I have and how much.

2. What's the worst uniform you've ever had to wear for a job?

I have not had many jobs and most of the ones I did have were before I had a husband and family. I would have to say I didn't have one that I didn't really like. Most of them were pretty comfy.

 3. What was your last kitchen 'mishap'?  This question comes to you courtesy of Betty who blogs over at A Glimpse Into Midlife...everyone go say hi to Betty!

I honestly cant say that I recall the last time I had a mishap in the kitchen. Im usually pretty good about making sure I don't break anything or burn or mess up a recipe.

 4. How do you protect yourself from other people's negativity?

I don't think you can really protect yourself truly because we are all human and have feelings. I just try to remember that that is their opinion and to take it with a grain of salt.

 5. Who in your family do you most resemble (physically)? If you have children, who do people say they favor? Do you agree?

People say Im an equal split of both my parents. As for my children. My son looks a lot like me and my daughter is a good cross between my husband and myself. I would have to agree with it all.

 6. January 8th is National Bubble Bath Day...will you be celebrating?

Well if I had known Im sure I would have but as I didn't know then No I wont be. lol

 7.  Some of the 'world's best winter festivals' are - Mardi Gras (New Orleans), Quebec Winter Festival (Canada), Sundance Film Festival (Park City, Utah),  Rio Carnivale (Brazil), Sapporo Snow Festival (Japan), Venice Carnival (Italy) and the Harbin Ice Festival (Northern China).  Of those listed (and if cost were not a factor) which would you most like to attend and why?

Well considering the fact that I am from the south and celebrated several times Mardi Gras and the fact that I have no idea about the others I would have to say any of them except Mardi Gras.

 8.  Insert your own random thought here

It has been so good being able to blog again. I have missed being able to write down my thoughts and have them to be able to look back on and remember how I was feeling about the day.

two in one day

I know that I have already posted today but I just needed to blog about my day again.

I was able to go out with our sister missionaries ( Sister Vandenburg and Sister Oldham) again today and meet with Allie and Larry. I have to say she is one girl who really feels the spirit of our heavenly father with full force. I am very excited to see her progress in our faith and would love to see them sealed in the temple next year. I know with all my heart that she will make it there.

We also saw another lady and her two friends but im not sure how well that one went. I know that both sister Oldham and I both felt like the place we were was not a good place. But I had faith that our heavenly father would not let anything happen to us while we are doing our lords work.

I also got to talk to Telsa today. she isn't having a great year so far and she really needed someone to talk to. I let her know she is loved by not only me and dale but also by our father in heaven. I think it really helped. I also told her that if she needed anything to just call one of us and we will be here for now no matter what she needed.

I know that I have spoken several times in this blog about Him but I really feel like He is playing a huge role in my life now a days. He has made such a change in my family and really bringing us back together and getting us back on the road home to Him. I can't imagine my life without Him in it.

I was told by the Sisters today that our Nashville, Tn mission is leading in baptisms and conversions and it is all due to member involvement. I was also told that they believe it is all due to me. I have to say that while that is an amazing thing I can only give credit where its due. I wouldn't be doing any of this if my Heavenly Father didn't tell me to be doing it. I feel like this is where I am suppose to be and this is what I am suppose to be doing right now. I can't deny my feelings and/or my Heavenly Fathers will. I didn't get to serve a full time mission (mostly because I was a young mother and getting married at the time I could have gone) as a young woman. So I feel like this is my way of being able to do that now. I love being there to watch as these people see and feel the truth of what we are telling them.

Well its time for me to get off here and spend some time with my husband. Both the kids are skating tonight and Dj is spending the night with Anthony afterwards so we will pretty much have the house to ourselves for a while. We don't get that to often.

A year of catch up

Well it has been almost a year since I was last able to post on here. I really need to get back into the habit of posting again. I have had a lot of things happen in the last year. So I guess I will get started.

Let see where should I start. Well we finally moved out of the apartment and into a three bedroom house. We love how open and perfect it really is. There is no need to worry about yelling (not that there is much of that going on anymore) or jumping up and down and worrying about people living bellow us. The kids are so much happier and there isn't fighting. Well no more than normal when there are teenagers involved. Lol.

I started a Jewelry business called "Bellard Bijou Boutique" and it is really starting to take off. I love the work and I enjoy being very creative with my stuff. My clients/friends love my stuff. I love seeing them wearing my jewelry. Im working on getting my business cards so that I can get the word out even more. I do have a web site for it. It Facebook.com/bellardbijouboutique . Go check it out and like the page. I could always use more likes. Once your there Im pretty sure you will love my stuff to.

Dale is starting to get the ball rolling for school so that he can become a Phyical Therapist assistant making good money. We have our fingers crossed. Its only a two year program so he should be able to get through it pretty fast. We all know how fast time goes. Right?

The kids are getting big. Elyssa just turned twelve and is now in Young Women's at church and loving it. She is advancing in school just like we thought she would. She is involved with Beta and a couple other clubs and just learned that she is now taking Art in school as her newest class. She is very excited about that. She is really growing into quite the little woman. I have a very strong feeling that she will be going on a mission when she is 19 now that they have lowered the age from 21 for girls. Sometimes I think she is just a little adult with the things that she says and feels.

Dominic is about to be 15 in July and really excited about getting his driving permit. Me not so much. But I understand he has to grow up sometime and this is all part of it. As he is getting older he is learning to control his emotions better and we are having less blow ups as a result. He is doing well in school for the most part and just got Teen living as his newest class. Im just hoping he doesn't get that electronic baby cause with the way he sleeps he will never hear it crying. Plus I really don't want to hear it either.

They are both growing so fast. It seems like just yesterday they were both little and now they are teenagers. Where does the time go.

With everything going on Dale is finally ready to move forward in our spiritual journey and we are going to be sealed as a family. Our plan is to be sealed by this summer but as soon as we get the letter from Dominic's father giving us permission to have Dominic sealed to us then we will do it. I have been waiting a long time for this and I can't tell you just how happy I really am. Dale and I have our Temple interviews with the bishop on Sunday so that is the first step to moving this whole process forward.

Well I think that just about gets us all caught up on the year. Now that I have access to this blog again I am going to make it a priority to write everyday. Well at least four times a week. Cause lets be honest my life is busy and most days Im dropping into bed around 11:30 at night and Im out for the night. So here is to happy Blogging again.
